I guess if you are going to take the time to read my poems, I should introduce a little bit about myself! Most of my poems are about my life in Maryland or things I have seen and felt at one time or another in my travels---a mixture of my best and worst experiences--a balance.
I love both city life and nature, and this reflects my life experiences in and around Southern Maryland and Washington, D. C. I currently live in Montgomery County. I lived in Florida for a year when I was twelve.
I love to write about how complexity and simplicity are intertwined and indistinguishable, especially in relationships. Things can be great--then boom! Everything's a wreck. Or things can be going terribly--and then boom! Clarity. I love that about life!
Even though I like to use spiritual and Biblical references in my writing, I am not really spiritual in a Biblical sense.
I like to write about my childhood in Southern Maryland fondly, and my darker poems are usually about my transient teens and the "lost days" of my early twenties when I realized that my life was not going to be what I thought it would be. I am not proud of every path I chose, but I have tried to regain who I want to be through my writing. I write about my current life fondly.
So, I hope you enjoy what you read, even the dark stuff! Afterall, I used to love it when it got dark out. Feel free to bring a flashlight.
